i just rang dhl and fedex and it seems there is a new rule that individuals cannot ship a lithium ion battery by air.
i wanted to send a phone whose battery cannot be removed (a cunning design by the manufacturers to maximise their post sale profits)
think about that for a second. apple get these things made in china or malaysia – they then send them to australia or where ever by AIR with the battery in it.
when you catch a plane anywhere your phone has to be switched off but you can bring the battery with you on the plane – but if we want to send it somewhere we can not! and then they wonder why people end up in a bell tower with a rifle. i really dont understand how our regulators think. and we pay their wages.
nothing in this construct of reality makes sense to me at all. except dandelion chai. yum.
i participate, you participate, he, she and the animals participate, they profit. [sigh]

money nonsense

i wanna collect more mp3s than i have time left alive to listen to them

Tuesday, January 12th, 2010

bumphlegm needs your help!!
being a part of the idiotic data hoarding scene it has been a goal of mine for some time now to collect a greater amount of mp3z (based on their play time) than i have time left to live. this all of a sudden seems far more reasonable to achieve now i have found out i am half way through my life (according to that death clock website). so i need to collect 305300 hours of music. no repeats..
how can you help? either of two ways..
1. you could send me a list of any mpoo3s you have and are willing to burn and send or
2. you could come and kill me now.
both ways i win but right now i would prefer if everyone just stuck to the option of sending me their music catalogues..
the email is at the bottom of this page.

Movie review: he’s just not that into you

start review:
i’ve never been good with films. truth be told i fall asleep during most. i use it as a gauge for how good the film was. if i watch it in 2 sittings then it was a pretty good movie.
i didn’t actually watch this film – it was watched by the woman sitting next to me whilst on a plane trip. i hate planes. if i could take boats i would.
i couldnt help but notice that several times throughout the film she was crying.
so a film i wouldn’t normally bother to watch unless trying to please a girlfriend (yes, honesty always reads badly) raised some pretty big questions in my head..
have i missed something in life? is there a feeling that i have never experienced that has prevented me from being able to emotionally invest in the glib lives of fictitious middle class white people? all awareness of fiction aside, why could darth vader slaying obi wan kenobi bring me to tears but not the failing relationships of people arguably in my own social/financial/age bracket? i have experienced many a failed interaction with other humans so is it a subconscious defence mechanism that removes me or was it just a shit film?
all this aside the blonde actress who spent all of the girl with the pearl earring looking stunned with her mouth slightly ajar (incidentally that was a three sitting but still unfinished film) is as always beautiful to the point of hurting (clarification – not gong li hurting – she hurts like going for a run after a glass pipe has been smashed inside my colon – this is more of the milder getting punched in the gut by someone you liked and had thought might sleep with you and then watching them walk away slowly pain)…
my guess is that whoever wrote this had the idea of taking beverley hills 90210, sex in the city and friends, mixing them all up and then rewriting it so that it feels like its written by someone trying but failing to make it feel like it could have been written by a young, less jewish woody allen…
end review.

RAID 6 – 3 drive critical failure..
4.5TB of data lost..
adaptec and seagate both blame each other..
now secret seagate firmware..
and we wait all over again.

at what point does one start to trust their “redundant” storage?

this will result in a post slow down – on top of the last 5 years of general data, we just lost the last 24 months of where is your god now – the torso jesus collection, a whole heap of birthday party and nick cave rare stuff, all our original video, audio and psd files and most works in progress…blah blah blah…

what else would i expect from the only game worth playing..
